1. Application period
August 30 (ceremony registration opens) - September 7

Please check “Kimono Rental & Dressing Service (Lottery)” when applying for the ceremony.

3. Eligibility
Girls age 3 and boys age 5
※ For each session, three girls and three boys will be selected.

4. About the lottery
Winners will be selected by lottery after the application period closes.
Only selected applicants will be notified by September 9.

Fee & registration

Participation Fee: $70 per child

Includes prayer offering, a protective amulet, and chitose ame (traditional candy for children).

A donation to UNICEF is also included.

Please note that kimono rental and dressing services are available only to those selected through the lottery.

Eligibility

Boys aged 3 and 5, girls aged 3 and 7, and accompanying adults such as parents or relatives.

Any nationality is welcome. In principle, up to five people per family may attend, including the child and parents.

If you wish to bring more guests, please contact us in advance due to venue capacity.

Registration opens: Sunday, August 30, 10:00 a.m.

FAQ

How long is the ceremony?

About 40 minutes. There is time to move around, so children as young as three are welcome.

Can we participate without wearing kimono?

Yes. You can participate even if you do not have kimono.

Is a photography service available?

No. Professional photographer service is not provided.

Is there a changing area at the venue?

There is a changing area, but space is limited and it can be crowded. Please dress in advance if you can.

Is parking available?

There is no dedicated parking lot.

Can I apply now and cancel later?

Once you submit your ceremony date/time, changes and cancellations are not accepted.
